Clay Maynard

Family and friends of Clay Maynard are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Catastrophic Illness. Clay has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

Clay Maynard is 38 and was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in June of 2015. He is also visually impaired due to an eye disease he’s had since childhood. He has been married to his wife, Amanda for 14 years. They have been blessed with three children, ages 14, 13 and 9.

Clay enjoys listening to audiobooks, drinking tea, going out with family and attending church. He is always down to play cards or board games with his family. Clay loves music and enjoys watching and listening to comedy movies and stand-up comedians.

Clay has lost his ability to walk, bath and dress himself. He can no longer play the guitar or transfer from bed to chair or chair to car, etc. He’s lost the ability to feed himself. He relies on his wife, Amanda, to care for him.

Clay is fundraising for a wheelchair accessible van so he can get to his medical appointments, visit with family and friends, and overall improve the quality of his life and independence. Accessible vehicles cost more than $60K.
