Crystal Dean Lemay

Hi! I’m Crystal Dean Lemay. Born & raised in New Roads, La. I’m a go-getter, having a sweet personality; I’m truly one of the nicest people to come across. I would say my smile is my greatest attribute.

Cerebral Palsy is my diagnosis. Being diagnosed at 22 months of age. I’ve been living with Cerebral Palsy my entire life. However I do not allow it to stop me from doing what I’m able to do.

There aren’t many things I dislike. My likes include the color green, lending a helping hand when & where ever I can, showing up for others, most of all working with children of all ages.

People often say to me that I have a beautiful smile and kindred spirit upon meeting me for the first time.

My biggest struggle encountered with my disability is transportation. We have a family size car , with that I’m unable to go around in my motorized chair where I’m a bit more mobile and free. I have to be placed in a manual chair and be lifted in and out of the car each trip by family and caregivers. It can sometimes be a lot for all of us with lifting and all. I’m unable to push the manual chair myself and require help in that area too.

At the present time, I’m ready to do whatever it takes to obtain a wheelchair accessible van. Public transportation is a blessing but with that comes barriers as well. Like only being able to go to areas in the parish. There’s times set for transporting.

Having the van will be a tremendous blessing in my life. Not having a lot of lifting take place. Ability to hang out with friends and family Being able to get out more in the community. Most Importantly the ability to get in and say “Let’s Go! Being more comfortable in my power chair

I’m overjoyed that I’ve found Help Hope Live. I’m ready to get this fundraising show on the road!
