Help Crystal Get A New Kidney!

Crystal Webster unexpectedly fell ill in July 2014 and was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulo Sclerosis (FSGS). Now 36 years old, she is in kidney failure and must undergo 4 hour dialysis treatments three days a week until a kidney becomes available for transplant. We are asking for everyone’s help in finding a living donor as well donations to help with the out-of-pocket medical expenses related to transplant. Crystal, a Hairstylist by trade, is a great candidate for transplant, but the number of people waiting is high and her quality of life and health are being compromised further the longer it takes to get a transplant. Crystal has always been a fighter – tough, hardworking and always perseverant – but fighting this may well take everything we’ve got. Even with insurance, the costs of transplant can be overwhelming. There are many medical expenses not covered such as co-pays, living donor expenses, caregivers, travel for pre and post-transplant medical visits and the costly anti-rejection medications that Crystal will have to take for the rest of her life.

To help with the financial burden of Crystal’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, is a trusted Nonprofit Organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for over 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
