Cynthia Needs Our Help!

Cynthia Buehler is 52-years-old and in need of a heart transplant. After suffering a massive heart attack in 2008, her heart has weakened to the point where a transplant is her only chance of survival. Cynthia is the sweetest person you would ever want to meet and needs our help.

Cynthia was born in Kansas, grew up in California and moved to Nevada in her teens. She became a medical technician, where I met her as a patient. She changed careers joining the State of Nevada DMV and suffered her heart attack in 2008. After two years, Cynthia was able to go back to work, but due to her illness she had to stop working again in 2014. Medical options were medications, surgery, and a transplant. However, the medications didn’t work, her heart is too weak for surgery and so a transplant is her only remaining option. She looks forward to once again becoming an active mother and grandmother. Cynthia and her family are committed to seeing her through this transplant.

Transplants are life-saving, but can be emotionally overwhelming, and financially devastating. Even with insurance, Cynthia will have many uninsured transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, travel and temporary relocation housing to be near to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the costly immunosuppressant medications that she will need to take for the rest of her life (approximately $2500 a month).

To help with the financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Cynthia’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Southwest Heart Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
