Help Cynthia Fight Multiple Sclerosis!

Cynthia Leonard will celebrate 65 years of life this year. Of those 65 years, the last 19 have been shared with an unwelcome visitor, multiple sclerosis (MS). After daily injections for ten years and numerous expensive disease modifying medications, the progression of her illness continues. Conventional medications have failed for Cynthia, and she has researched promising treatments for her condition. In an effort to halt the progression of her MS, Cynthia will undergo a hematopoietic stem cell transplant, or HSCT. Unfortunately, this type of treatment is not covered by her health insurance and costs upwards of $60,000, including treatment costs, travel and lodging fees.

For many years, Cynthia worked hard as a small business owner as she and her husband owned C & J Enterprise, a machine shop in Angleton, Texas. Too sick to still work, Cynthia was forced to leave due to disability and her husband became her full-time caregiver. Despite her condition, Cynthia managed to volunteer weekly at the local hospital. She became a Brazoria County Master Gardener and helped to build an Enabling Garden in Angleton for people with physical challenges. Cynthia was an avid fishing partner with her husband, but is no longer able to garden or fish or even walk through the yard because of the progression of her MS. HSCT will give Cynthia her life back, and is a proven treatment to halt the progression of her disease. Cynthia asks for financial assistance for this treatment and is seeking your much needed financial support.
