Dan McMonigle is a cherished husband, father and “Go-Pop” to his 5 grandkids, and a dear friend to so, so many. As a local real estate agent, rotarian, and active parishioner of St. Monica’s Church in Berwyn, he has served this community selflessly for many years. He is a true “Man for Others!”

In November 2017, Dan was diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease with Hepatic Encephalopathy (severe cirrhosis of the liver) and has since seen a rapid decline in his health. While he is being closely monitored and actively taking strides to improve his overall wellness, Dan will need a complete liver transplant in order to survive this disease.

It is our goal to help raise awareness of the Penn Living Donor Transplant Program, and to get our friend back on track with a healthy new liver from a living donor as quickly as possible.

While Dan’s insurance will cover living donor costs, there are numerous out-of-pocket expenses related to his pre- and post-transplant care i.e. anti-rejection medicines. Family and friends are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of Dan to fund uninsured medical needs.

We have chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors.
