Family and friends of Dana Tennent are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.

As many of you know I have had quite the year. I suffered congestive heart failure and went into Mass General Hospital on December 11, 2018. I spent a total of 7 weeks of testing for various solutions before finally having open heart surgery to place an (LVAD) Left Ventricular Assist Device. I was released from the hospital on February 4,2019. I was listed for transplant and worked over the next 10 months working in cardiac rehab, walking and getting stronger day by day.

On the evening of October 9, 2019 I received a call that they had a heart for me and was transplanted on the morning of October 10, 2019. I awoke from the surgery the next day, which was my 22nd wedding anniversary. What an incredible gift from God and of course my angel hero Donor. As you can probably imagine with 2 open heart surgeries in 1 year, extended hospital stays, not being able to work, plus the ongoing treatments, and co pays for medication and appointments the expenses outweigh my income by a substantial amount.

This is why I have chosen to fund raise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors.
