Family and friends of Daniel Padovano are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Injury.

Dan had an accident on July 17, 2024. While trimming bushes in his yard, he fell off a landscaping retention wall and fractured his neck. Due to the spinal cord injury, he is now permanently paralyzed from the chest down, requiring a wheelchair indefinitely. He has been in the hospital between multiple ICU’s and inpatient rehab since the accident, and is now ready to be discharged back home. His spirits remain high and he maintains a very positive attitude, keeping his amazing sense of humor. As he transitions home, a lot will change in his day-to-day activities. He will now need in-home health aids every day, a motorized wheelchair, a lift to get him into the house, as well as many other medical devices to help him in his normal daily activities. Although Dan and Cindy are blessed to have great insurance, most of these expenses are not covered by any insurance.

So many people have reached out, asking how they can help. After 5 weeks of thinking on how people can make an impact, we realized that making a donation towards some of these unexpected expenses would make the world of difference to our family.

Some acute goals for Dan are just getting comfortable in the home and learning to do everything in new and challenging ways. Larger goals include getting Dan back in the kitchen and making that amazing food that we all love. We would also love to be able to get a wheelchair van so Dan can get out and about as often as he would like to do some of his favorite activities like going to parks, spending time with his grandkids, and going out to restaurants. This is our largest expense and very daunting.

Our community of friends and family have been great and we are beyond blessed to have so many amazing people in our lives who have already done so much to help.
