Help Danny Recover from his Transplant!

On Thanksgiving Day in 2013, Danny Turner became very ill. After repeated admissions to the hospital and spending days in ICU, Danny was diagnosed with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Danny’s health continued to spiral downhill, and eventually his kidneys began to fail, as well. Danny was added to the Liver/Kidney dual organ transplant list at Emory Hospital, and this past October 16th, 2014, Danny received the phone call from Emory that would save his life. After 14 hours of surgery, Danny awoke in the ICU with a big smile on his face; he received his lifesaving Liver/Kidney transplant with much success! His transplant saved his life, but the costs for Danny have been overwhelming.

Danny spent his working life committed to serving his community and helping others. He worked as a lieutenant with the Roswell Police Department for over a decade, and more recently worked in the 911 Center, where he became a Nationally Certified Police, Fire and Medical Dispatch Operator. Danny has been involved in public service, law enforcement and radio emergency services for many years. He has spent his lifetime helping others. Now it is time to help Danny!

Even with health insurance, Danny is facing very high medical expenses related to his dual transplant. Around-the-clock nursing care, co-pays, deductibles, travel expenses, doctor visits, and costly anti-rejection medications that Danny will need for the rest of his life, are adding up for Danny and his family. Danny is required to travel back and forth to Emery Transplant Center over three times per week. He needs blood draws and post-transplant testing to ensure his new Liver and Kidneys are functioning properly.

All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Liver/Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
