Darlene Lewis

Family and friends of Darlene Lewis are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.

Darlene is a survivor, a caretaker, a mother. She’s survived breast cancer…twice, fighting hard to kick cancer’s you-know-what and beat it.

Darlene grew up in New Orleans, but moved to Georgia after weathering Hurricane Katrina. Despite being stricken by a stroke, partial paralysis, hypertension, and now kidney disease, she’s still fighting but the costs are great, in every sense.

– $7000 out-of-pocket costs for her transplant.
– $230 monthly for post transplant medication which she’ll need for the rest of her life.

Help Darlene put another survivor notch in her belt and beat this thing.

More about Darlene: She’s silly and sarcastic. She’s resilient and beautiful. She’s a fox and carries a tender heart that pricks easily, though she’ll never let you know that. She’s a God-loving woman who loves to sew and play volleyball. She also likes to play tennis, though her skills are debatable, and breakfast is her favorite meal of the day. She doesn’t like talking on the phone or watching the same movie twice and she hates feeling sick, as most of us do, but she still laughs and gives medical staff something to smile about with her shenanigans.
