Darrell Lenn

Dear Friends and Family,

I am writing to you on behalf of my father Darrell Lenn. He is not my biological father but when I was young, for fourteen years, he was there for me and cared for me like his own. I just want to let everyone know that he is in my heart and prayers every day! I may not be able to be by his side as much as I want, and wish I could, but I live deeper than in his heart … “I am in his soul.” I just want him to know he is not alone. I told my dad that we will get through this one way or another. After all, even he said, “I’m not going anywhere because my first grandbaby is on his way to meet me”. I love you pops! Stay Strong! Darrell is currently awaiting a heart transplant at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. He has already undergone several hearts surgeries; his heart has weakened to the point that his only chance for survival is a heart transplant.

Although Darrell has insurance – which is expensive in itself – he faces many uninsured (out-of-pocket) transplant-related expenses. Funding this procedure will be a monumental task. Even after he receives a transplant, Darrell’s expenses will continue in the form of medications (lifelong), co-pays, and doctor visits to ensure the continued health of Darrell and his precious “gift of life.”

A fundraising campaign has been established with HelpHOPELive in Darrell’s honor to help offset his medically related expenses. HelpHOPELive is a nonprofit organization that has been providing assistance to the transplant community for more than 25 years. All contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
