DAVID NEEDS YOUR HELP!

David was first diagnosed with heart failure in October of 2011 and had a quadruple bypass in November of 2011. He spent the next couple years trying to manage his condition with medicinal therapy. Over the years and stress of his heart failure, his liver and kidney’s had also began to fail. In 2019, he was flown to the University of Utah and spent a month on the Cardiac Unit. He was told that patients as sick as he was were likely to live for at least 6 months to a year. His family moved from their hometown of Elko, Nevada to the Salt Lake City area to be closer. It was during that time David started dialysis and was also put on Pallative care and the beginning of Hospice. He wasn’t ready to throw in the towel.

He remained stable for the next 2 years and miraculously made it through the pandemic. It was the Spring of 2022 when his cardiac team suggested him for transplant.

David went to appointment after appointment making sure that he was doing all the requirements for transplant. He met with Kidney and Liver failure as well. After about 11 months and 100% on board, he was again presented to the Transplant Board and was accepted.

As of May 05, 2023, he was officially listed on the National Database for Transplant. David has worked very hard to get his second chance at life. He prays for the day he can live a semi normal life. He prays for the day he can finally do things that he used to like to do and enjoy it with his family. It has been a long journey to get to where he is at now. Family and friends of David Jones are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
