David Theobald

Family and friends of David Theobald are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with his double lung transplant. David has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

David has been battling a lung and heart disease since his battle with COVID almost 5 years ago. David has been reliant on oxygen for over 3 years and his lungs were getting worse every year. During 2025, David contracted RSV in January which made him rely on more oxygen than before and then in April he collapsed from lack of oxygen and spent more time in the hospital and ended up needing even more oxygen. Once he finished teaching for the school year, David was admitted into the hospital for the evaluation process. During one of the exams David could not come out of the anesthesia and had to be put on ECMO. Once on ECMO he was put on the fast track to finish the evaluation process and eventually he was put on the transplant list on a Thursday afternoon. Just before midnight THAT night a donor was found and the transplant took place the next day! The speed with which all of this took place has placed a strain on David and his wife, Pam and their finances.

David and Pam had money saved up but that has been depleted due to them only having one income now due to David being immunocompromised. Rent, utilities, insurance, car payments, and groceries along with increased medical bills and a large amount of medicines and copays for appointments have now inundated them and caused a financial need for help. David and Pam would love your help in any way. It is much appreciated and David and Pam are grateful for the donor and their family and anyone willing to donate to their cause.
