David Guzman

David has had a long battle with diabetes which has caused numerous health issues over the years, with the main one being heart disease.

David had a quadruple bi-pass surgery in April of 2014 and in July of 2014 he found out that 3 occluded, which put him in Congestive Heart Failure.
Since the summer of 2014, he has had several surgeries and has been hospitalized a few times, including his daughter’s 5th birthday, his son’s 18th birthday and most recently, Christmas of 2020.

Doctors discussed putting David on the heart transplant list in the summer of 2019. However, his diabetes caused too many problems, and his sugars were not in control enough to be a good transplant candidate. He worked on getting healthier, getting his diabetes in control, and after MANY tests, he was able to be added to the transplant list in February of 2021.

Miraculously he received a new heart on March 26, 2021! We are now grateful to be in the extensive recovery phase!
