Debra Waters

Debi Waters is a 61 year-old woman who has struggled for years with emphysema and COPD. Her condition has gradually worsened, and she has been put on the waiting list for a lung transplant. The transplant is her only hope for survival.

Debi grew up in Columbus Ohio and has three daughters. After spending 14 years as a stay at home mom, she earned an Associate degree in Criminal Justice from COTC, and needs only 15 credit hours to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree. Debi plans to earn her Bachelor Degree after recovering from her transplant!

Debi is a very kind-hearted person who has always put others first and has always helped others. Debi now needs our help, as the cost of a transplant can be overwhelming. The surgery itself, follow-up medications, treatments, and lodging are all very expensive. Even with Medicare coverage, her out-of-pocket costs could exceed $10,000. Debi has six grandchildren and one great-grandchild counting on us to help her get her lung transplant.
