Denitia is longing for Lungs.

Denitia was diagnosed in 2020 with an incurable rare lung disease and need a double lung transplant. This rare progressive and chronic disease has no known cause so nothing can be done to treat, fix, or reverse her lung disease. Over the past 3 years, Denitia has tried various treatments to manage this disease. She has faced multiple hospitalizations due to the constant deterioration of her lungs making it harder for her to breathe. This disease has attacked both of her lungs and damaged her trachea.Her only option is a double lung transplant. A transplant like this will allow Denitia to regain some quality of life in order to see her children grow up.

Over the past 3 years, Denitia has quietly battled this rare disease working to be the best wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Denitia’s positive attitude, faith, healthy lifestyle, and joyful spirit has sustained her but now her lungs are functioning below 31%. Denitia is oxygen dependent, attends pulmonary rehabilitation to help keep her physically active for a successful surgery. Denitia will be placed on the UNOS list as early as February 2023.

While Denitia has health insurance, a double lung transplant is upward of $1.2 million dollars. Many transplant expenses are surprisingly not covered.

Family and friends of Denitia Morris are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund those uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
