Family and friends of Derrick Myrks Jr. are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Derrick has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

Hello, my name is Derrick Myrks Jr., and I am 26 years of age.

I have been diagnosed with stage five kidney failure. This was a complete shock.

I was diagnosed in March of 2024.

I was completely healthy until this particular date.

There is no known cause or reason as to why my kidneys are failing.

I enjoy creating music and plan to one day have my own clothing line.

I have a one-year-old daughter and also a new baby on the way.

I really dislike and have challenges with nausea and vomiting related to my illness. People enjoy my laid back and calm demeanor. I also enjoy helping others when and where I can. I struggle with maintaining employment due to being sick and feeling fatigued daily. This causes a strain on my family and financial status.

I am fundraising to try and raise money for a kidney transplant and medications pertaining to the transplant. I was advised that if a transplant is completed, I would have to be on medications for the remainder of my life. I am hoping and praying to my father in heaven that this campaign for fundraising can assist me and my family with ways to live a quality filled life. I am hoping to raise $5000 or more to assist with lifelong medications.
