So a little more about me. The bread and butter if you will. I’m 37 and the father of 4 amazing kids. I have:
-7 year old
-11 year old
-Twins at 13 years old.
3 of them are girls hence the little mermaid get up. Now for some history, so this amazing journey of life started in 2004. I had just graduated from college and looking for a job when I got an offer to be a plumber. Was feeling fine until early 2018. August of 2018, I had my first feeling that something was wrong. Got a bunch of blood work done and the results said MRI time. I got the news that I had Multiple Sclerosis. Things started getting worse and on May 15, 2019 I had to stop being a plumber after 15 years. The company I was with was wonderful and kept me on as a purchasing agent until 2/15/2021. At that point the MS started giving me bad brain fog and I couldn’t remember processes that I had done for almost 2 years. I’m writing all of this because my kids have watched me go from a jungle gym and walking 10,000+ steps a day to a guy that needs a wheelchair because he can’t walk 10 steps without aid. They tell me that they would rather have it then me so I could go do fun things with them, but I have no way to get my chair around when it rains so I miss a lot because the wet season in Florida is long. I’m asking for any help I can get so we can get a van that is compatible with my wheelchair. I want to be able to watch my kids grow and be able to participate in the life activities as they grow. Another reason for this is when we have evacuations for hurricanes, I am able to leave with my family as well.

My family and friends are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of me Devon Greenwell, to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Illness. Living with MS is costly as insurance does not cover a lot of cost, particular an accessible van, which is essential once you are wheelchair bound. I need a van for everything, medical, trips with family, if I ever want to leave my home, I will need a van. I need the support of others to make this a reality.
