GOOD NEWS…Diane Clark is heading home! She received the gift of life through a double lung transplant this past November at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. Diane’s surgery was successful yet medically challenging for her dedicated team of doctors and support staff. Everyday we saw small steps in her progress.
She is now improved to the point she is ready to transition to life at home starting in mid January. Diane celebrated her birthday on January 13th and was told she would be going home January 19th. What a great birthday present!

The next step for Diane is getting on with living a more normal life in her home. Diane’s lung transplant was a lifesaving miracle yet Diane’s out-of-pocket expenses are quickly adding up. She will require around-the-clock care for many weeks. Co-pays and deductibles, follow-up visits, rehabilitation fees, and insurance premiums are expected to cost hundreds of dollars. Diane will also be required to take costly, post-transplant anti-rejection medications that she will need for the rest of her life.
