Diane Konopka

Family and friends of Diane Konopka are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Catastrophic Injury. Diane has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.Mom experienced two major infections that if not ignored would have no left her wheelchair bound earlier this year. On Oct 1st she had a stroke which has left her left sided partially paralyzed. Prior to stroke family installed wheelchair ramp and had to hire a caregiver because she couldn’t be left alone. Now family has to cover added expenses like hoyer lift, air mattress, wheelchair van and added medical expenses like IV treatment because medical insurance ran out of days to cover completion at a medical facility. Should be covered if didn’t run out of hospital and SNF coverage which would have included IV treatments but at this point family got stuck with expense of giving treatment at home when in the beginning told had to be at SNF to receive treatment now she getting kicked out instead of completing all therapies as initially started at hospital and to maintain a caregiver as well.Family is hoping to raise money to help cover a majority of the cost because it has been a roller coaster ride through mounting medical issues initially started when ignored by physician which could have prevented the final outcome.Luckily family was able to keep a promise to motivate her coming home from snf before stroke take to Wildwood like did in ’23. Diane has surmounted the last couple of medical occurrences but has left her immobile due to home not challenging her enough but using hoyer lift prior to stroke which at this point there is little hope she will regain mobility just getting by day by day.Family hopes to raise some funds for some needed support.
