Dominic and Christian Bailey

Family and friends of Dominic and Christian Bailey are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Illness like Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

We are the Bailey’s, we have 9 children and live in Kansas. In 2000 My husband and I welcomed into the world a son. At the time we felt like there was something not quite right, it took him a long time to crawl and then it took him even longer to walk. It started to get harder for him to climb up stairs and getting off the floor. When he was 4 years old we decided that it was time to go talk to his pediatrician. She ran some tests and when the test came back it was determined that he had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. At that time I was pregnant with our baby #4, Bryanna, then came baby 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Maggie, Christian, Gabriella, Guenivere and Adrien. When Christian was about 3 years old we also tested him and we found out that he also has the same mutation and slowly he became weaker and weaker. Now the boys are 23 and 14 and they are living fully dependent on a wheelchair.
