Don Needs Our Help!

Donald V. Rathbun, Jr. is 53- years young and in need of a kidney transplant. He is living with stage five kidney disease and has been told that his only chance to return to good health is to have a kidney transplant. Don has completed all of his evaluations and is now on the active transplant waiting list Virginia Mason in Seattle as of June 21st. We are asking for your help to make it happen!

Before his diagnosis, Don worked as an IT supervisor installing computers in many hospitals across the United States. In 2014, Don and I moved back to Spokane, Washington from Arizona to spend time with our combined families, which include 10 grown children and 23 grandchildren. Don looks forward to the time post-transplant when he can once again enjoy his time with extended family and friends.

Transplants are lifesaving, but financially draining. Even with insurance, Don is facing many high uninsured transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, travel and temporary relocation to stay near to the transplant center and the costly anti-rejection medications that he will need to take for the rest of this life. These expenses could very well exceed over $10,000 the first year alone.
