What began with unexplained shortness of breath and fluid buildup has revealed a significantly large mass in his chest. Donald spent 2 weeks inpatient at UC San Diego, where his medical team was able to manage the buildup of fluid around his heart and lungs, and ensure he is strong enough for the cancer battle ahead.

His preliminary diagnosis is Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, but Donald is also hoping for a second opinion review at MD Anderson Cancer Center or City of Hope , some of the world’s leading cancer hospitals. For young patients like Donald, accurate and advanced cancer treatment is vital. These hospitals offer some of the most advanced diagnostic testing, clinical expertise, and innovative treatment options available anywhere. Having a second opinion could make all the difference in confirming the diagnosis, ensuring he receives the most effective treatment, and giving him the best chance at long-term survival.

A Life on the Cusp of New Beginnings

Until just weeks ago, Donald was on the brink of realizing his dream. He is nearing completion of his degree in Agricultural Sciences, supported by a scholarship, and was preparing to launch his career with a global leader in sustainable irrigation solutions—a role that would allow him to put his passion for sustainable agriculture into practice.

Donald wants to be a source of strength and support for his brother, with the hope of one day creating an independent life where the two of them could live together.
