Earl Newman

Dear Friends and Family,

Many of you know Earl Newman. He is the loving husband of Juanita, wonderful father and fun grandfather. Earl has been an insulin-dependent diabetic for the past 17 years, has been on dialysis 3 times per week for the past two years and is now in end stage renal failure. Earl is a hard worker, continuing to work part time, and is determined to fight this battle. His doctors at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center have told us that his only option now is a life-saving kidney transplant.

Not only is a kidney transplant major surgery, it is also very expensive. Even with insurance there are many expenses that must be paid for out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, travel and relocation to Pittsburgh and Earl will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications. This puts us up against a challenge we cannot meet alone and your help is desperately needed.

In order to ease the financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Earl’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. He looks forward to returning to a more active life and watching his grandsons grow up. Please help us help him achieve this dream.
