Eddie Cannon

Dear Family and Friends,

We are writing to you on behalf of someone very special, Eddie Cannon. As you may know, Eddie has been suffering from congestive heart failure for many years. He has endured many heart surgeries and is 100% dependent on his pacemaker and defibrillator. Eddie’s doctors at Emory University Hospital have told us that he is in need of a life-saving heart transplant. He is currently on IV medications 24 hours a day and is getting weaker.

Through his years of illness, Eddie always stays positive and determined to live his life to the fullest while knowing God has a plan. He is a skilled machinist by trade but has been unable to work for many years due to his debilitating heart disease.

Not only is a transplant major surgery, it is also very expensive. Even with insurance, there are many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, travel to and from the transplant center and relocation expenses at the time of transplant. In addition, Eddie will be on a life-time of very expensive anti-rejection medications.

To ease this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Eddie’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the South-Atlantic Heart Transplant Fund and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplanted expenses only.
