The year 2023 started very bad that has changed the way I am going to live my life from now on. On my birthday (January 5th) I suffered an AVM bleeding which caused me a spinal cord injury. Spinal arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are a rare and heterogeneous group of abnormally developed spinal blood vessels associated with an increased risk for hemorrhage and morbidity.

This injury affected all my neurological system, my capability of standing and walking as well as my bladder and bowel function; therefore, I need to mobilize in a wheelchair.

Due to this injury, I also lost my job since I was just starting working at a new place and up to this point I am having trouble finding a job.

Since my family and I knew the cost of being hospitalized for a while will be expensive, I had to use two insurance companies to try to cover as much of the bills as possible. I have been prescribed a good number of medications since I left the hospital to help me control the pain/discomfort I have on my legs and I’m still taking them every day.

I am looking for the collaboration of all of you to help me pay my medicals bills from the hospital, Dr’s follow up appointments to monitor and improve my recovery (MD, neurologist, urologist, cardiologist, gastroenterologist, orthopedic) and the number of meds I have to take daily to help alleviate pain/discomfort on both of my legs and especially feet.

Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will help me take a big problem out of my way and I am working hard to get back to the person I used to be. Thank you in advance and stay safe.

HOLA A TODOS!!

El año 2023 comenzó muy mal lo cual ha cambiado la forma en la que voy a vivir mi vida de ahora en adelante.

En mi cumpleaños (5 de enero) sufrí un sangrado interno debido a una malformación arteriovenosa en mi espina dorsal. Las malformaciones arteriovenosas espinales (MAV) son un grupo raro y heterogéneo de vasos sanguíneos espinales con un desarrollo anormal asociado con un mayor riesgo de hemorragia.

Esta lesión afectó todo my sistema neurológico por lo que perdí la capacidad de pararme y poder caminar al igual que la de hacer mis necesidades. Por ende, he tenido que empezar a movilizarme en silla de ruedas.

Debido a esta lesion, también perdí mi nuevo trabajo que tenia y hasta la actualidad tengo problemas en conseguir un trabajo.

Como mi familia y yo sabíamos que el costo de estar internado en el hospital saldría muy alto, decidimos usar dos compañías de seguro de salud para poder cubrir las cuentas lo mas que se podía.

Estoy buscando la colaboración de ustedes para que me puedan ayudar a pagar mis cuentas medicas del hospital, visitas medicas para monitorear y mejorar mi recuperación (medico general, neurólogo, urólogo, cardiólogo, gastroenterólogo, ortopédico) y el número de medicamentos que tengo que tomar al dia desde que dejé el hospital para ayudarme a controlar el dolor y/o incomodidad que tengo en mis piernas y sobretodo mis pies.
