KERRY NEEDS YOUR HELP!

My loving husband, Kerry Moore is 53-years-old that just received a life saving liver transplant. Due to complications with the transplant Kerry is now in at the UVA Long Term Care Facility. The costs associated with a Liver Transplant and rehabilitation are overwhelming.

Kerry is a wonderful step-father to Aspen, Devan and father to Afton and Gabriel. He is the kindest and sweetest man you will ever meet. He greets strangers as if they are longtime friends, always quick with a smile and his witty sense of humor. He grew up in Virginia Beach and attended Kempsville High School. He went on to become a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity at James Madison University with a dual degree in Psychology and Sociology. Kerry has always had a soft spot for kids and has dedicated time to coach baseball, softball and basketball teams for the youth of Powhatan, VA.

Unfortunately, Kerry’s illness has left him bedridden most of the time. He is unable to work and partake in many of the activities he previously enjoyed, such as going to see his favorite hockey team, the Tampa Bay Lightning and going to NASCAR races at RIC. After his recovery from his transplant and the subsequent issues arising from the transplant, he looks forward to returning to work, spending time with family and friends and becoming an active member of the community again.

Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. Even with insurance there are many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, travel back and forth to the transplant center and relocation for up to six months at the time of transplant. In addition, Kerry will be on a life-time of expensive anti-rejection medications. This puts us up against a challenge we cannot meet alone and desperately need your support.

To help with the financial burden of Kerry’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years.
