Family and friends of Eldridge Brown ll are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with kidney transplantation.

Eldridge is scheduled for a kidney transplant.  He won’t be able to work for a couple of months and has no sick leave.
He has been dealing with kidney disease for over 7 years. He’s fortunate that many friends offered to donate kidneys over the years, however several potential donors learned of their own health issues, making it unsafe for them to donate.

In February 2020, Eldridge was in final stages of bloodwork and tests when the hospital discovered that donor had kidney stones, and was ineligible. Then the world shut down due to the pandemic!

Last year, a designated donor was all set to go, but the blood type wasn’t compatible enough. Dashed hopes again.

Through paired exchange, it appears a viable live donor will share a kidney on April 20th! There are many tests to go to get this to work, but we are hopeful.

Eldridge has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors.
