Emily Vaughn

Due to no fault of her own, Emily has been in the hospital, collectively, a month now. She has suffered from postpartum cardio myopathy (aka congestive heart failure). After and echmmo and impella installed to operate all functions right and left side, of her heart, she has now been transferred from Tulsa Hilcrest to INTEGRIS in OKC with only the impella installed. Doctors have ruled out the LVAD due to the inability of her right side not functioning well enough on its own. So, we’re going for a heart transplant now. They’ve done so many tests, X-rays, ct scans, ultrasounds and lab work. They said everything looks great except that her antibodies are EXTREMELY high. That being said, if she were to get a transplant now, she would 100% reject the new heart. With all that… They’re trying to get us into a different facility that specializes in desensitizing people in order to be able to get the transplant. If we get into the facility, her and my mother will be moving to LA for 6 months to a year, possibly more.. leaving behind a spouse, and 3 young children.
