**The Beginning of Erika’s Journey** Erika Jones, the life force of her family and beloved wife to Ronnie (DJ Rapture), faced a dire challenge on July 1, 2023. Known for her dynamic energy and zest for life, she was blindsided by a diagnosis of acute liver failure and cirrhosis, leaving her with a grim prognosis of just 6 to 8 months. The sudden turn of events left her and her family grappling with uncertainty and fear. This tumultuous period began when Ronnie, serving as a Paramedic Captain with the San Francisco Fire Department, was on the frontline during the pandemic’s onset, leading to his battle with long-term COVID and Erika’s constant exposure to the virus.

**A Rare and Puzzling Diagnosis** Erika’s medical journey took a perplexing turn with the diagnosis of Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC), a rare liver condition. The origins of PBC remained a mystery, compounded by the fact that it wasn’t hereditary. Her health challenges escalated after contracting COVID-19 in 2020, leading to repeated setbacks.

**A Glimmer of Hope Amid Despair** The path took a hopeful yet daunting turn as Ronnie’s diligent research revealed a rare, advanced form of Sjogren’s syndrome affecting Erika’s liver. Faced with a critical situation, the quest for a liver transplant intensified. By January 2024, Erika was on the UNOS list, anxiously waiting for a matching donor liver.

**Erika’s Battle and the Journey to Recovery** With the successful liver transplant on March 15, 2024, Erika began her arduous journey to recovery. Once a beacon of strength and compassion, she now endures constant pain and fatigue, her vibrant life now shadowed by ongoing health challenges.

**A Call for Compassion and Support** Erika and Ronnie face a daunting financial challenge, with post-transplant expenses expected to reach $200,000. They urgently need support to cover the costs of Erika’s care, including lodging for her post-operative recovery, medical tests, and the anti-rejection medication she will need for the rest of her life.
