Estanna Brewer

Dear Friends and Family,

Let us tell you a little bit about our daughter and Diarrah’s twin sister, Estanna. She is 18-years-old and has been on Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) her entire life, along with additional nutrition via a G-Tube. After several Hickman catheter placements, infections and intestinal surgeries, her doctor’s informed us that her only chance at a healthy life would be to have an intestine transplant. Estanna has just been placed on the active transplant waiting list at the Georgetown University Medical Center.

Our daughter loves to read, listen to music and enjoy time with the family whom she loves very much. She also likes to watch old T.V. programs such as 7th Heaven, Fresh Prince and Saved by the Bell. When her health permits, Estanna is part of the liturgical dancers at our church and on June 21st she graduated from Schenectady High School.

Even with insurance there will be many uninsured, transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, travel and temporary relocation to the transplant center and the costly immunosuppressant medication that she will need to take for the rest of her life.

To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Estanna’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the New York Intestine Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
