Hello friend, thank you for visiting our page. In 2016 our son, Ethan, was unexpectedly diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. For the past seven years as Ethan’s physical body continues to weaken, our family has been a front-row witness to beauty and hope we never could have imagined. Maybe it’s because it shines so brightly against the backdrop of pain, sorrow, and grief that has also been just as unexpected.

In early 2022 Ethan received a power wheelchair which has given him incredible freedom and autonomy. However, transporting his 400 lb chair in our current older model minivan is difficult, unsafe, and dependent upon Nate’s availability. As we prayed about acquiring an accessible van, we found Help Hope Live and the opportunity to raise funds and invite others into this journey of helping to make life more accessible for Ethan.

Help Hope Live is a well-respected, credible, 40-year-old nonprofit organization passionate about helping families with non-covered medical expenses and equipment needs for catastrophic illness. After a small fee, 97% of the funds Ethan raises will go directly to providing an accessible vehicle for his needs.
