Eva Lyon

Eva Rohrdanz-Lyon is a 44-year-old woman who is very ill. A kidney transplant is her only hope for a better life, after months of struggling with kidney failure and dialysis. Eva, who is one of the kindest people you’d ever hope to meet, needs our help. She grew up in North Tonawanda and graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School. Eva went to Buffalo State Collage where she studied history and political science. After spending 20 years as a medical biller, she suffered a spontaneous spleen rupture which led to kidney failure, and a necessary leave of absence from work. Eva eagerly looks forward to returning to work in the future. Together, Eva and her family are committed to seeing her through this transplant.

Transplants are lifesaving, but are financially draining. Even with insurance, Eva will have many uninsured transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, travel and temporary relocation to be close to the Cleveland Clinic and the costly immunosuppressant medications (approximately $5,000 to $6,000 a month) that she will need to take for the rest of her life.
