Evan Needs Our Help!

Evan Lalanne, an 18-year old Cal Poly Manufacturing Engineering student, was severely injured after falling from Bishop Peak on December 29, 2016. He was air-lifted to Stanford and then to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose for spinal cord rehabilitation. The injuries Evan sustained from this fall have left him paralyzed from the waist down.

Evan graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 2016. He is a remarkable person with a positive outlook on life, as are his parents, Tamara and Marc, and his younger sisters, Claire and Grace. He is happy to be back home on the Central Coast and is hoping to return to Cal Poly in the fall. Anyone who knows Evan can attest to his determination and fully believes he will accomplish his goals and dreams. Nevertheless, the road to recovery after spinal cord injury is a long and difficult one.

As preparations are made for Evan’s immediate and long-term care needs, his family faces a tremendous challenge they cannot meet alone. Even with insurance, the related medical expenses, rehabilitative services, therapies, and necessary home and vehicle modifications are extremely costly. This is where you can help make a difference!

To help offset this astronomical financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Evan’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years.
