Hey everyone! This is Sarah Williams and I wanted to tell you a little bit about my current health situation and why I need your help. I am 23-years-young and was born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). CF is a chronic lung disease that can affect many parts of the body, but it is generally the lungs that suffer the most due to the production of very sticky mucus that makes breathing difficult. I have been told that my only chance at survival is to have a double-lung transplant within the next two years.

As a child, I was told I would not live to see high school, but as the years passed I fought long and hard every day to be a normal child – and yes, one that was living with CF. I was blessed with a 15-year-old brother who has recently passed away due to CF. Shortly after his passing, I learned of my need to have the transplant.

Even with insurance, I will have many uninsured-transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits and the expensive anti-rejection medications that I will need to take for the rest of my life. The transplant center has told me that I must raise $10,000.
