Fawn Rangel

Family and Friends of Fawn Rangel are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund medical expenses associated with her Cancer Battle and Liver Transplant She is 44-year-old mother and widow. Fawn is a mother of 3 Young Adult Children. She fights daily to be there for them especially after the passing of their father in 2018 She is all they have.

Fawn was married for 21 years when her life was turned upside down with the sudden loss of her Father, Nephew, and her husband in 2018. Only to be diagnosed with Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer) 9 months later on her 40 birthday June 2019. It had metastasized to her liver so she was sent into surgery In July of 2019 to have a liver resection in Los Angeles CA which was 5 ½ hours from home they started pill Chemotherapy right away to have the cancer show its ugly head again on her liver 2 months later. We started high dose liquid Chemotherapy Feb 2020 for 3 months. It didn’t help so they sent her to radiation and started another pill form Chemotherapy to try to get the tumor shrunk. In Feb 2021 Fawn went into another liver resection to remove the tumor again. They kept her on the pill Chemotherapy to try to keep it away. During last surgery her back somehow got fractured so they had to do Kyphoplasty on her back so she could walk without assistance only to get bad news the Chemo isn’t working and that she would have to have another resection, Jan 2022. Surgeries in 2021 and 2022 were during the covid closures so she had to be by herself through a lot of the fight. In June 2022 She moved home to Family and Friends so she could have the support as she still fights daily with daily pill chemotherapy. She transferred everything to Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City UT hoping to get better answers and get off the pill Chemotherapy. On her first appointment in August 2022, they referred her to the Transplant department at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City UT which is 2 ½ hours from her home where she is living with family. Fawn along with her support system have to travel to Salt Lake City, UT to get treatment. In Oct 2022 Fawn met with the Transplant team and they are very anxious to get started to get the diseased liver out of Fawn and get her onto a better life without Cancer in it. Fawn does have insurance but it doesn’t cover all things. She still has some medical expenses that will require her to cover like travel, lodging, meals, copays, other necessities that will accrue during treatment.
