Flora Needs Your Help

Family, friends, and co-workers of Flora Sumrall are raising money through the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation. Flora is scheduled for a kidney transplant in the NEXT 48 HOURS (September 11/12, 2020) of and will have several preparation appointments leading up to this life-changing experience. Flora is working with the medical team at the University of Alabama (UAB) in Birmingham, AL. The travel between her home of Quitman and Birmingham alone is just one of many aspects where we can team up to support Flora’s journey.

Flora’s loved ones are asking for three primary avenues of support: 1) be in prayer for Flora as she prepares for the surgery; 2) be in prayer for her medical team, hospital staff, etc. as they work to bring good health and new opportunities for Flora; and 3) make a donation in support of the expenses associated with travel, medical, recovery, etc.

Many of you may not know this, but Flora’s niece is donating her kidney. While she was not a match for Flora, this selfless sacrifice has set into motion a chain of events that has allowed Flora to be matched. Her niece is donating her kidney to someone who’s family/friend is donating to Flora – isn’t in amazing how God uses a single act to bless so many others!

Flora has chosen to fundraise through Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility to the full extent allowed by law for contributors.
