Help Gilbert “Alex” Lucero on His Journey to a Kidney Transplant

Gilbert “Alex” Lucero was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) in September 2021. Since then, he has faced the difficult reality of dialysis four times a week, each session lasting hours. Sadly, PKD runs in his family—his biological father passed away from the same disease in June 2022, and both of Alex’s biological brothers have also received the same diagnosis.

Alex is now preparing for a kidney transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. This life-saving procedure will require him to stay near the hospital for 4–6 weeks, accompanied by his caregiver. Unfortunately, this means paying for two households during that time, which adds significant financial strain on top of his medical expenses.

Despite all of this, Alex continues to give back. He works tirelessly as a caregiver for others, always makes time for his nieces and nephews, and enjoys riding his Slingshot and side-by-side with his Ruff Ryder family. His strength and love for life inspire everyone who knows him.
