Gladys Millow

Gladys Millow is a 52 year-old loving mother of three, who is in desperate need of a lifesaving lung transplant. Two years ago, Gladys was hospitalized with the flu, where she was then diagnosed with a rare medical condition of the lungs known as Alpha-1 Antitrypsin deficiency. This condition is an inherited disorder that causes lung disease, usually between the ages of 20 and 50. Symptoms include shortness of breath, wheezing, recurring respiratory infections, fatigue, and rapid heartbeat upon standing. Over the years, Gladys has lost significant lung function and lung tissue, and now fully relies on oxygen in order to breathe. Gladys also suffers from COPD and emphysema and her doctors have now told Gladys that without a lifesaving lung transplant, she sadly will not be with us much longer. Her time is running out, and a lung transplant is her only option. Gladys needs your help!

Gladys has worked hard her whole life and spent the last 10 years working for Emerson Division which she had to leave as a result of her illness. Gladys is a fun-loving and caring person who loves to laugh, volunteer in her community, and has a passion for interior design. She loves to restore old furniture and bring it back to its original beauty. Gladys needs our help to get back to health and be able to spend time with her family and doing the things she loves best. Even through her sickness, Gladys still manages to take care of her Grandson, Cam who came to live with her 5 years ago due to the absence of his mother. Gladys and Cam are quite a team together and both look forward to many long years together.

Gladys has health insurance, however the cost of her transplant is monumental and Gladys needs your help with her uninsured medical expenses as they quickly add up.Travel and lodging to live closer to the Cleveland Clinic, co-pays and deductibles, medical bills, insurance premiums, temporary relocation, living expenses, caregiver and transportation fees are more than Gladys can handle alone. She will also have post-transplant anti-rejection medications that are needed for the rest of her life. These will cost upwards of thousands of dollars each month, and as she waits for her lung transplant, Gladys’s out-of-pocket medical and transplant related expenses continue to rise. Gladys desperately needs your help paying for these bills.
