Help, Hope, and Livers

In 2018 Glenn was unexpectedly diagnosed with liver cancer. Shortly after, Glenn began treatment, receiving a targeted radiation which helped to shrink the tumor but did not eradicate it completely. Over the past two years Glenn has been diligently attending appointments and countless tests; all while continuing to work, care for his chickens and his home, and tackling the other challenges life presented. If you know him, you know his positive outlook, enthusiasm, and independence are forces to be reckoned with, and he is not one to ask for help without good reason. At this point, the recommendation of Glenn’s medical team is a liver transplant to give him the best chance of a healthy and fully functional life for many years to come. He has been accepted into the transplant program at OHSU, and has completed nearly every requirement, of which there were so many! The final hurdle to help Glenn get a new liver is for him to have adequate funding to ensure that he can pay for medications and medical bills. The medications alone are very expensive, even after insurance, but they are imperative to a successful transplantation and Glenn will be unable to work while he heals. Without adequate funding, this transplant is not possible.

Family and friends of Glenn are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund these uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.

Glenn will have access to the total amount donated to Help Hope Live in his name to help relieve the cost of this transplant.
