Grant Skaggs

Hi, for those who don’t know me, my name is Grant Skaggs. I grew up with a rare bone dissolving disease, Idiopathic Multi-carpal Tarsal Osteolysis, that ended up causing kidney failure. At the age of two symptoms of a bone dissolving disease had begun. The first symptoms were pain in my feet, along with that came weakness and overall just feeling very poor. Over the next four years the bone dissolving moved from my feet to my hands, wrists, elbows, and fingers. The doctors told my parents that this disease could cause my kidneys to fail at a later age when the bone dissolving had stopped. At the age of 16 my kidneys began to fail so I started peritoneal dialysis, after that did not work I switched to hemodialysis. After a couple months of being on hemodialysis my father gave me a kidney on December 10, 2003. In August of 2023 my kidney started failing so I started hemodialysis again. My mother is hoping and praying to be a match so she can be my donor now. I am raising money to help with post-transplant medication, help and other costs and needs. Anything you would like to donate is a blessing & I thank you very much.Family and friends of Grant Skaggs are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Grant has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.
