Dear Family and Friends,

We need your help. After years of struggling with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), Greg will finally be the recipient of a new kidney on August 15th. His cousin, Jayne Flagg, is unselfishly giving up one of hers’ in order to improve Greg’s quality of life.

For those of you who do not know, Greg’s health has steadily declined over the past year. His kidneys have grown to about 15 pounds each (normal healthy kidneys are one to two pounds each) and cause Greg incredible pain. This medical situation now interferes with his everyday life — Greg is pretty much home bound and misses out on the things he enjoys.

Transplants are lifesaving but financially draining. The average cost of a kidney transplant and first year expenses more than $260,000! Even with insurance Greg will have many uninsured transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, travel and temporary housing to stay near to the transplant center and the costly anti-rejection medications he will need to take for the rest of life. Anyway, this is where we need your help!

To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Greg’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Northeast Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
