Hans Needs Our Help!

Family and friends of Hans & Kellie Mendenhall are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.

Hans, 31 years old, had one kidney removed when he was nine months old due to a Wilms’ tumor in the kidney. His cancer was considered stage one and chemo therapy followed the surgery. He was declared cured of the cancer, but in high school, too much protein was discovered in his urine. This was his first sign of kidney failure.

In December 2017 his nephrologist referred him to the Ohio State University Comprehensive Transplant Center. On Friday, Feb. 16, his wife, Kellie, gave him the most precious gift of life, a kidney.

They were just married in August and have three children; Kami, Kailen, and Silas. Hans worked up until the time if his transplant as a gas technician for Waste Management at Suburban Landfill in Glenford, Ohio. Kellie is a property manager for Borror managing properties in Zanesville & Lancaster. Hans is a graduate of Tri-Valley HS & Hocking College. He is a past master in the Masons & an Eagle Scout. Kellie graduated from Crooksville High School & Zane State College. They are both members of Coburn United Methodist Church.
