Hayden Low

On January 26, 2019, our son Hayden was in a serious skiing accident at Park City, Utah.

He was airlifted to the University of Utah Hospital with multiple broken bones and a severe T5 spinal cord injury that has left Hayden with paralysis from the chest down. Hayden underwent surgery to fuse his spine and to repair his sternum and is currently at an in-patient rehabilitation facility working daily to regain strength and mobility and to learn how to navigate daily living in his new condition.

Hayden is 20 years old and recently returned from serving a two year mission in Mexico City for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is a freshman at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and loves to ski. Despite the long road ahead, Hayden has been blessed with a kind and friendly disposition that lifts others and has the optimism and faith to return to school by the Fall 2019, to get back on the ski-hill (however that may look), and to live an independent and full life, whatever the long-term prognosis may be – His courage, work ethic and sense of humor in all of this is inspiring!

The costs of Hayden’s recovery and on-going care throughout his life will be extreme.
