As many of you know, Henry Schoenbeck, just 39 years old, has been battling end-stage renal disease for several years. After undergoing years of grueling dialysis, doctors determined that he needs a kidney transplant to survive.

Henry’s kind and courageous Uncle Jimmy has gone through rigorous testing at the Swedish Hospital Medical Center and has been determined to be a match. He feels honored to have such an opportunity to help his nephew in this loving, selfless way. Henry and his wife, Shashona and their three girls, Coral, Lilly and Kayla are so very grateful and feel blessed to have him in their lives. Uncle Jimmy has been a rock through this very difficult time and is now making preparations for transplant alongside Henry. Now Henry and Jim need a little of your help.

Transplantation is life-saving but very expensive, and costs can be devastating. Even though Henry’s insurance will cover the bulk of his procedure, there are many uninsured costs such as: co-payments for multiple doctor appointments, travel, relocation, medical supplies and donor expenses. Uncle Jim and his wife Denise will be traveling from California to Washington and will be staying in the state for 16 days incurring costs for rent and travel.

To help with the financial burden of Henry’s funinsured expenses and those of his donor, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Northwest Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
