This campaign is to help raise funds for any medical & lodging costs that may become costly during the whole transplant process. My condition, pulmonary arterial hypertension, which is a rare disorder of high blood pressure in the lungs, has caused this transplant.

All other forms of supportive therapy have failed, as there is no cure. The transplant will help improve my quality of life. Right now, I have a poor quality of life as I am on a home portable ventilator and am restricted to what I can do. All donations made will be greatly appreciated!

Family and friends of Holly Szmutko are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation. Some of the costs will be relocation for 1-3 months. Lodging is more than I make in a month. My Mom will have to relocate with me as she is my primary care giver. We have been able to find discount apartments through the hospital. The cost of the lodging is $75 per night. It is 1 block from the hospital and offers shuttle service to appointments. Also, some of the post transplant is not covered. I have already made a deposit on my account but it won’t cover near the expenses we will have.
