Fifteen years ago Ilija was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy (an autoimmune disease). It was fine for a long time, but in the last year his kidneys have been ravaged by this disease. It has made everything harder. He has so little energy, cannot do any of his favorite activities, and has a harder time thinking. He is on home dialysis, but that has been really hard. The doctor just keeps saying “hurry and get a transplant!” It is officially time for a transplant!

Ilija is a husband, father, entrepreneur and lover of the outdoors (especially the lake). He looks forward to getting back to the activities that he loves so much with his family around him. Especially now that his boys are getting older, he really wants to do physical activities with them without feel awful! It will be wonderful.

Family and friends of Ilija are raising money through the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation. These things include lodging near the hospital, gas, food, recovery expenses, living expenses for a couple of months post transplant when he can’t work, medications post transplant, etc.
