In 2010, just after a brain surgery to remove a blood clot that was sitting on his brain, our dad, Jamie Warnock, was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease called FSGS (Focal segmental GlomeruloSclerosis). Most patients, when reacting positively to the steroids given as treatment, can have anywhere from ten to fifteen years before needing a transplant. Our father, however, reacted negatively. Through healthy eating and lifestyle changes he has been able to get four and half years out of his kidneys. Those four and a half years have been an upward battle for him. The steroids had him putting on upwards of eighty pounds of water weight at times. He has days where he can’t even get out of bed. He has no longer been able to work since the diagnosis, so saving for this impending surgery has been impossible for our parents.

Through all of this, he does remain positive and strong. Grateful for the time that he gets with his family, who are the most important thing to him. His kidneys are now failing and a transplant is needed within the next couple of months to keep him in our lives.

Our dad’s posterity consists of his wife Sandi, daughters, Kathrine, Ashlee, Anna, Rhonda and Emilee and their husbands. Also, his five grandsons and two granddaughters, with 1 more grandson due late November. We want nothing more than to have our dad around for Holidays, blessings, sports games, graduations, weddings, and all the joys that come with life.

Our dad has touched the lives of so many people. He is the man who helps the elderly ladies from their cars to their seat in church on Sundays. He mows his neighbors lawn, because he knows they have been a little busier than usual. He offers an ear and kind words to those in need of comforting. He goes out of his way to help a stranger. He makes a phone call to a friend, just to catch up. Through all of his pains and trials, he keeps on thinking of others. He spreads love and kindness wherever he goes.

Please help us raise the funds necessary to pay for our dad’s kidney transplant, room and board, therapy, medications, and all those hidden costs that we often find in medical bills. Insurance is going to help little to none, it will be a fight the whole way. If we can, we would like to make our parents burden lighter. This is the reason we have started this fundraiser. We know this is an expensive procedure, but we know that he is more than worth it!
