Father of five needs your help.

Jared’s long battle with chronic kidney disease has unexpectedly come to a critical point. We are asking family and friends to join us in fundraising for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to get him on the kidney transplant registry immediately so Jared can begin the necessary testing to find him a match and to help with the enormous expenses their family is facing.

Jared was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy – an immune disorder that affects his kidneys in 2007. In May of this year, Jared’s doctor told him his function was at 36% (down from 50% 5 years ago) and that he would likely need a kidney transplant in 5-10 years. Within the last 6 months, his function took a sudden dive to 16% and he now needs a life-saving kidney transplant. There is no cure for kidney disease and so Jared and his family knew they would be going through this at some point, but the timing has been quite a shock.

Jared and Melanie are the parents of 5 beautiful kids: Colby (16), Taylor (14), Halle (12), Avalyn (9), and Kendall (6). In January of this year, Jared opened the doors to his dream of starting a brand new dental practice in the Texas Hill Country. While the practice has had an amazing start, opening a new business has inevitably put a heavy financial strain on their family. And while they have insurance through Medishare, the Christian share plan requires 3 years before they will cover a pre-existing condition. The Wright family is a year away from meeting that requirement.

Through a series of mini-miracles, Jared has been able to secure additional insurance that will assist with the transplant, but the coverage will not begin until January 1st. With his numbers dropping so quickly and knowing it will take 6-8 weeks to go through the testing to find a match, they cannot wait until January to start the process. The transplant center requires a $10,000 deposit to begin so that is the immediate need we are hoping to raise very quickly. Jared is very fortunate to have family members ready to be tested and to live near one of the best transplant hospitals in the country. Additional funds raised will be used to ease the financial burden of a transplant, as well as the anti-rejection medications and anticipated time off work.

All donations to Help Hope Live are tax-deductible and will only be used for expenses related to a transplant. Your donations will allow Jared to focus on a healthy recovery so he can continue to be there for his children and serve his community for many years to come.
