Our beloved friend Nisha (Jasmine/Jazzy), has a rare spinal tumor, and is pursuing entry into an NIH-funded research study that could change everything. She is being treated at UCSF and Stanford in California because her diagnoses demand it.This is not a small fight. This could take her life. Her clinical and social work teams have exhausted every option. Nisha has spent hours on the phone, filled out every available grant, fought adjuster by adjuster. The only door still open to Nisha is to raise funds to get treatment.

For 90% of this seven year health journey, Jasmine carried it completely alone. She courageously fought a brain tumor along with multiple other endocrine tumors.While Jazzy was quietly showing up for her community: volunteering, supporting, giving – she privately endured seven surgeries and devastating diagnoses without publicly asking for help. She faced it with a grace and strength most of us will never have to find. 

She never told us. She never asked. That is who Jasmine is.

Now we know. And now we have to act.

Her tumor is so rare that her insurance has denied coverage for both diagnosis and treatment! It’s left her fully exposed at a moment when she can least afford it. Between that and ongoing brain tumor care across UCSF and Stanford, her out-of-pocket costs are $9,000 a month and growing. A critical diagnostic cycle is imminent and we’ve raised only $2,500 of our $20,000 goal. We are $17,500 short and time is not on our side.

Your donation covers what insurance won’t: critical diagnostic appointments,  living expenses, rehabilitation, and travel keeping her in treatment.

Jazzy spent this entire fight being strong alone. Now she needs to lean on us.
